"I rather be hated for who I am

than loved for who I'm not"

ABOUT ME

CALVIN A. DUNCAN

Calvin Duncan is a native of Linden, New Jersey. Born with no silver spoon, he was birthed into adversity. Due to his mother’s untimely death and no real knowledge of his father, Calvin was reared by his aunt. At the age of seventeen, his aunt passed away; leaving him homeless and to fend for himself. However, these obstacles were never used as deterrents from the path laid out for him, by God.

Basketball was Calvin’s vehicle out of the urban community. His athletic outlet led him first to Oakhill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; where he graduated in 1981. He later attended Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, VA. While there on scholarship, Duncan earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

As a three time Hall of Famer, NBA draft pick, and VCU basketball legend, Duncan credits his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all of his achievements. From homeless to career success and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
